Our charity partner, Band of Builders, who offer support to tradespeople and their families facing illness and injury consistently demonstrate what is achievable when those in the construction sector stand together.
Just some of the projects they’ve been responsible for which have bought a new lease of life for so many across the country include:
- making houses wheelchair-accessible
- improving living spaces and play areas for families
- making safety adaptations to living areas
- undertaking garden renovation and house extensions

THE V2150 BOB BOOT
Collaborating with Band of Builders, we made the exclusive V2150 BoB (Band of Builders) safety boot (pictured). For every pair of the BoB boot sold, we donate £5 to the Band of Builders charity to support them helping those in the industry in their hour of need.
We're proud that through sales of the BoB boot, we've been able to donate thousands of pounds to this fantastic charity.

THE V12/BAND OF BUILDERS BALLOON
To show just how committed we are to spreading awareness of this charity, we even bought a co-branded hot air balloon (pictured) which allows us – quite literally – to shout about the Band of Builders charity from the roof tops.
Additionally, in every box of Bob boots we include an extra pair of the now iconic branded orange laces for free, which further helps to promote the charity - and make the wearer look striking and stylish at the same time. Check them out in all their orange glory here.
NEW PROJECTS FOR 2023
Band of Builders have already finished one project this year, which saw them level the ground floor and widen doorways at the home of a former builder who was left paralysed after a fall. And they’re now gearing up to deliver several new substantial projects. They include:
- A home extension for a family which will enable their son to finally return home after more than two years spent in hospital and a neurological care centre after suffering a brain aneurysm.
- A complete home conversion of an eight-year-old son of a builder, who lost both legs at the knee and became quadriplegic after contracting meningococcal septicaemia.
- Creating a downstairs bedroom and wet room for a builders’ merchant employee who was left paralysed.
- Creating a wet room for a former joiner who is now a wheelchair user after suffering a severe stroke.
Regarding this year’s projects, Gavin Crane, Band of Builders CEO said:
“The next wave of projects is a timely reminder of what Band of Builders was set up to do – and that's make a massive difference to the lives of people from the construction industry who are facing life-changing circumstances.”
£1 MILLION MILESTONE
Band of Builders recently arrived at a very significant number. They have reached the £1m milestone for the equivalent cost of the labour and materials used in its projects since the charity was launched. Reaching this £1m milestone involved 772 volunteers giving up their time - for free - on projects that took a total of 203 days to complete and clocked up over 18,000 hours of labour. More proof that with the investment, dedication, generosity and skill of its volunteers, Band of Builders has and will continue to achieve incredible things.
