Looking For Brown Safety Boots? The Bison IGS is For You

A few years ago, brown safety boots were a very rare phenomenon. Now? They're starting to seriously rival their Black and Sand contemporaries.

Popular for construction and engineering and very big overseas, we have launched a fantastic new brown safety boot: the VR601.01 Bison IGS. Also available in Black hide and Honey nubuck, the Bison IGS will completely replace the VR601 Cougar.

HIGH STANDARDS OF SAFETY

Like the Cougar, the Bison IGS features a composite midsole and toecap, providing wearers with excellent protection from falling and underfoot objects - but at a lighter weight. With an SRC slip rating, these safety boot offer the highest levels of slip resistance, as well as meeting the high spec S3 safety standard, packing in the following features:

COMFORTable, stylish and practical

As well as featuring our new sole, the Bison IGS has been completely modernised and remodelled. A huge benefit over the Cougar is that the Bison IGS is now completely metal-free, meaning it is safe for high security environments.

Constructed with a full grain leather upper, the bison is both water-resistant
and breathable. A padded perforated scoop collar reduces heat build-up and provides comfort for driving, and a closed speed lacing system removes the risk of snagging. Finally, a new high bellows tongue reduces water and dirt ingress.

This brown safety boot is also incredibly comfortable. It has been created to a brand new extreme comfort shape, and has a shock-absorbing heel pod buried within the sole, reducing impact on knees and back. A quick-dry moisture wicking lining regulates temperature and promotes foot health.

Falling from height is the biggest killer in our wearers' industries. That's why the VR601.01 Bison IGS has four strong and deep ladder grips and a well-defined heel to keep you sturdy and firm footed while climbing or descending ladders, and ultimately helping prevent serious or potentially fatal falls from height.

Inspired by tyres, the sole pattern is based on small hexagons which provide multiple sharp edges to cut through liquid, while the larger, self-cleaning lugs provide stability on chunkier terrains.

What's more, to protect you from aquaplaning, we have designed the heel strike of this metal-free safety boot at 7ª, the angle at which most slips occur. Five angled splines provide increased contact with the ground, effortlessly cutting through water and dirt on every step, keeping you firm footed when you need it most.
