Well, they’re right - there is. And like everything we do, comfort is at the core.  ### **THE RIGHT FIT** ![70% of the world's footwear is produced in Asia](https://blog.v12footwear.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Info%20Graphics-06.png?width=690&height=345&name=Info%20Graphics-06.png)   The issue is that footwear made in these nations is often smaller because the native population tend to have narrower feet. As a result, the [lasts](https://blog.v12footwear.com/the-truth-about-lasts-v12-use-tradition-and-tech-for-perfect-comfort) used to shape the billions of shoes and boots made in Asia that account for a lot of the footwear that we wear daily reflect this. So, when this footwear is shipped out to western nations, wearers with wider feet can end up in boots and shoes that are too small, even if they are labelled as their size.  This also causes issues when people buy boots from different [brands](https://blog.v12footwear.com/safety-boot-sizing-why-brands-differ). They might fit a size 8 perfectly in one, but another boot brand in the same size might not fit well at all.  ### **HOW DOES V12'S FIT FEEL DIFFERENT?** ![The V12 last is based on 4,000 foot shape scans](https://blog.v12footwear.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Info%20Graphics-07%20(1).png?width=690&height=345&name=Info%20Graphics-07%20(1).png)  Many wearers remark that V12 boots feel wider than other safety footwear brands, and this is exactly what we want. And because V12's footwear is wider, pinching and [blistering](https://blog.v12footwear.com/how-to-prevent-and-treat-blisters) is significantly reduced.  ### **SO HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE I AM IN V12 BOOTS?** Take a look at the video below and you’ll see just how easy it is to find your true foot size and get yourself a perfectly fitting pair of V12s. An extra bonus? This video also shows you how to find your [arch height](https://blog.v12footwear.com/v12s-dynamic-arch-insoles-the-foot-pain-solution-for-safety-boot-wearers), another aspect of foot health we’re passionate about at V12.   ###### **i aLREADY KNOW MY SIZE!** ![Check your shoe size regularly](https://blog.v12footwear.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Info%20Graphics-08.png?width=400&height=599&name=Info%20Graphics-08.png) Just bear with us... Firstly, ask yourself this question: how old were you when you last had your shoe size taken? Many people's feet don't actually stop growing until their early 20s, so there could have been a lot more growth than you think since your last formal foot measuring. With age, the foot arch can drop, flattening and therefore lengthening the foot, so a bigger boot can sometimes be required. Also, during pregnancy, due to gained weight and loosening of ligaments, many women find their foot’s arch flattens which causes the bones in their feet to spread and widen, which can result in the need for bigger shoes. Post-birth, some women return to their regular shoe size, but some have to go up a size permanently. ### **ONCE YOU’VE GOT YOUR V12 BOOTS** Particularly if you’ve changed safety footwear brands, make sure you give your feet a little time to get used to your V12 boots. They’re a wider fit so they might feel different, but remember, they’ve been designed to accommodate and fit your foot shape! It’s likely that your feet have been used to being squashed into a narrow boot – but now they’ve got the room they need.   ### **SAFETY STARTS WITH COMFORT** No amount of cushioning, padding or foam is going to make a boot comfortable if you don’t have the right size for you feet.
