The new zip side safety boot from V12 Footwear - The Avenger IGS

The VR620 Avenger by V12 has been an incredibly popular safety boot on oil rigs and construction sites since its introduction in 2015.

The all new VR620.01 Avenger IGS is on a whole new level.

Remodelled to a brand new extreme comfort shape, this high leg, zip side safety boot sets a benchmark in comfort and grip. It will directly replace the VR620 Avenger.

what are the Safety features of the VR620.01 Avenger IGS?

The Avenger IGS features a composite midsole and toe cap, providing wearers with excellent protection from falling and underfoot objects, at a lighter weight. • Anti-static
  • Heat and chemical resistant outsole to 300ª.
  • Water resistant
  • Composite toecap
  • Composite midsole
  • SRC slip rating

What other features are in this ZIP SIDE safety boot?

VR620 Avenger IGS copy.pngThe Avenger IGS is constructed from a polished full grain leather upper, with a florescent stripe and deep padded scoop collar. Water resistant and breathable, this safety boot is ideal for oil and gas environments and construction sites.

The Avenger IGS combines a quick on-off zip side and a non-snagging lacing system to provide excellent ankle support and a fully adjustable fit. This makes the Avenger IGS an excellent alternative to rigger boots on sites where these are no longer allowed. A strong moulded scuff cap protects the vulnerable toe area, and anti-scuff heel protector increases the boot’s life. A bound bellows tongue reduces water and dirt ingress and the boot benefits from reinforced tripple stitching to ensure excellent durability

Created to a new extreme comfort shape, the Avenger IGS is highly suited to people on their feet all day long.  It is so comfortable in fact, that all of our test pilots rated it
5/5 for comfort, and commented that it didn't require breaking in at all.

A padded, moisture wicking lining will keep your feet cool in summer and warm in winter, and a shock absorbing heel pod buried within the sole will reduce impact to knees and back. Our new Energyse insole provides full foot cushioning and shock resistance, with a unique heel pump to channel air around the foot, reducing heat buildup.

The new IGS sole

IGS.pngFalling from height is the biggest killer in our wearers industries. Above and beyond safety boot requirements, the VR620.01 Avenger IGS has four strong, deep ladder grips and a well-defined heel to keep you sturdy and firm footed while climbing or descending ladders, and ultimately help prevent falls from height. These ladder grips are the first in the industry to meet the firefighter standard EN15090:2012.

Inspired by tyres, the sole pattern is based on small hexagons which provide multiple sharp edges to cut through liquid; and larger, self-cleaning lugs to provide stability on chunkier terrains. This makes it the perfect safety boot for oil rigs and construction sites.

What's more, to protect you from aquaplaning, we have designed the heel strike of this metal-free black safety boot at 7º, the angle at which most slips occur. Five angled splines provide increased contact with the ground, effortlessly cutting through water and dirt on every step, keeping you firm footed when you need it most.
