Keeping people safe is our mission. However, our fantastic team is absolutely essential in fulfilling this mission.

In reflecting on the landmarks in our company’s 25-year history, we’ve been thinking about what our most memorable employee moments are. So, who better to ask than the team!  

THE GREAT V12 CHARITY HIKE

On 26 May 2017, a team from V12 Footwear hiked 13 miles from our headquarters to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance site to raise money for their new airbase. 

Jemma Fullam, Talent Manager, was part of the hike: 

“The hike was a memorable event for me as it was a real team day - it was tough, but we all crossed the line together. 

It was also memorable because it was SO HOT. I resorted to using an umbrella for sunshade - and I got some very funny looks from passers-by. We’re all committed to supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance, so we were proud to make this journey for them.

DONATION TO BAND OF BUILDERS

In January 2023, V12 donated £10,000 to Band of Builders, a charity offering aid to those in the construction sector.  

This sum was generated by V12’s ‘BoB boot,’ made in collaboration with Band of Builders. For every pair sold, V12 donate £5. 

Head of Sales and Marketing, Charlie Turner, told us why this was such a memorable moment: 

“This donation had so many benefits. It helped the charity, it helped the people benefiting from their projects – and to make this donation, many pairs of BoB boots were sold, so it helped the wearers stay safe. And this ripple effect of sharing and support was a memorable feeling.” 

BOOTS! CAMERA! ACTION!

Maeve Taylor, Marketing Manager: 

“Filming and photography can often be some of the most memorable days. A couple of standouts were filming the video for our Lynx range. The theme of the video was ‘Secret Agent’ - and watching the team run around a quarry in the cold and wet weather was quite a departure to sitting in an office all day!  

Another was our BoB boot launch photoshoot. It was the best photoshoot I’ve ever been on. It was a fun, light-hearted day: we had tradies, decked out in work boots, hi-vis and hard hats, pulling their best influencer poses. It was great.

STEPPING UP TO SUSTAINABILITY

Matthew Roberts, Content Creator:

“When we began developing our Lynx range into a carbon neutral product, I knew it was a very positive step – but I didn’t realise then quite how positive the impact would be. 

The more we did to reduce Lynx’s carbon output in production, shipping and packaging, the more the environmental benefits became clear.  

So, I think the Lynx becoming carbon neutral is my most memorable V12 moment, because it was the start of a sustainability journey that has done a huge amount of good for our planet.”

INVINCIBLE HITS THE MARKET

Rolf Turner, Head of Operations: 

“Releasing our Invincible metatarsal boot onto the market was a very memorable moment for me. We worked with several experts and testing houses because we wanted this boot to be the most reliable and consistent met protection style on the market.

It took several years to develop, and we had to overcome many design and manufacturing complexities, but thanks to teamwork and tenacity, we did it.”

HALF-marathon MAN

George Coffey, Business Development Manager, was so keen to show the world how comfortable V12 boots are, he decided to run a half-marathon in them:

"This was a memorable moment because I was representing V12 Footwear, our top-performing safety products and paying homage to the great comfort in our footwear. As well as this, it was memorable because of the pride I felt at raising money for an incredible charity. And the icing on the cake was that I completed a tough personal goal I set for myself by finishing in under 2 hours."

TEAMWORK

Tina Ritchens, Accounts Assistant: 

“While it’s not quite a single memorable moment, I feel it’s a huge benefit that I’m part of a team that has gelled so well and works together really effectively. Perhaps this is not a moment particularly, but when you reflect on how important teamwork and trust is in a department, each day is certainly a series of moments which makes things easier and more efficient, which make them very memorable!“

WING WALK

When it comes to charity work and raising money in the community, V12 employees always aim high. But some of them aim really high...

Keira Maria, Group Finance Director:

I completed a wing walk (where I was strapped to a plane) on behalf of V12 Footwear to show our support for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. I wore my V12 'proud to help propel' t-shirt - and I certainly was propelled! It was a very memorable (and slightly scary!) moment, but it was great.

It really pushed me out of my comfort zone, and added to this, it was a great way to experience something new. Lastly, the wing walk was an opportunity to raise money for charity, which is such a key value for V12.

STEPPING UP

These are just a few examples of the memorable moments experienced by V12 employees throughout the years. And what ties them all together is a shared commitment to teamwork, endless determination, and an incredibly strong spirit of generosity.
